Why stay with Dish Network over DirecTV??

Agree with a lot of that HanoverP says ... but I believe the greatest problem .. is that dish .. like any "corporation" is deaf, or at least plays it that way. And its this failure to listen to customers that hurts them most.

Obviously, Dish isn't going to do much of a deal to keep him. So switching to Direct for two years and back to Dish for the next two years. is the way to go and the original poster knows this. BUT, we know that the rest of us are footing the bill for these switchers in higher prices at Direct and Dish. That might be why the poster told him about the door.We kinda get tired of hearing from these switchers who are costing us in higher prices.

Not sure how you can claim switchers cost you money. Dish incurs essentially no cost to give content to more subscribers. The only serious cost is the hardware, and everything after that is gravy. And if folks are paying for 24 months of subscription, that's coming back pretty quickly.

Switchers make Dish money. You make Dish money. The more the merrier when you're talking about bargaining power for Dish with the providers. If you want to spread the price, you want more of these switchers, and less loyal DirecTV, cable, and OTA users.

Who is really costing you money? DirecTV and cable [and OTA]. ;) And that's probably not costing you money, honestly. It's not like a serious corporation is going to try and leave money on the table.

So down, haters, down. And boy, the current AAA deal for DirecTV is tempting... I'm trying to resist.

It's silly to blame the switchers. If these businesses offered incentives to keep customers (instead of just those that bring new customers in the door) there would be less jumping around.

Even better said.
