why is it?

How can it be that the following channels are in the premier package for D*:

ESPNU
GOLTV
FOX soccer channel
CBS College Sports

shouldn't the above channels be in the choice extra package like those channels are in the americas top 250 on E* or does D* get charged higher carrying fees for those channels.

in regards to the sports networks when i put 17015 my home zip in the free regional networks search it says the following channel is available MASN and when i put 17013 in it says MASN and Comcast sports net mid atlantic these codes are for the same cities why the difference of one less channel.

1. DirecTV makes the packages and does the research to get them, so only they can tell you why.

2. League's make up the RSN market boundaries by zip code; not by distance or town name and transmits those for the companies to adhere to by law. You would need to contact them or maybe the team to ask why a separate zip code inside the same city is not in the market. Be prepared for a mind altering explanation if you get one at all.

Well thats explains it E* gave me both MASN and comcast however still i can handle MASN because it has the O"s and nationals on it. I stil thought the orioles were on comcast but now they are on MASN so this setup works. Thanks Charper

With dish they were in the top 250 package with D* it will be much different.
