Why don't NFL use the Redzone channel more. Couldn't they use it for other games that are on during the week? Or use it as an overflow/alternate channel for when NFL has more than one game on at a time. It seems daft just have it for a few hours on a Sunday.

It would make no sense to have the channel for Monday or Thursday Night Football. You can watch those games on ESPN or the NFL channel. When there are more than one game scheduled on any evening the second game will be available on a second channel.

There are only two other days with NFL Football - Monday night and Thursday night one game each with a couple of exceptions. (At end of year there are a couple of Saturday games, Thanksgiving two games, opening Thursday two games) Monday night is an ESPN exclusive, far more available than the Red Zone channel anyway. Thursday night is already on Cable with the NFL network - more widely available than the Red Zone, and many Thursdays on free Network TV. There really isn't an overflow nor is the Red Zone more available than already exists.

The local news or even ESPN Sportscenter re-plays those touchdowns along with re-caps of sports in general, and by that time there is no compelling reason to sit through every Red Zone replay on NFL Redzone when we already know the outcome of the game. It is not knowing if there will be a score that keeps sports fans on the edge of their seats. After we know who has won and lost and the scores, most people would rather watch a re-run of a sitcom before sitting through too many replays. But, it might cost NFL too much money, or more money than they want to spend, to make NFL Redzone 24/7. NFL is probably too cheap.

They could use redzone for other camera angles on Sunday, Monday and Thursday night football games.

Except I'm sure ESPN would have an issue with that on Mondays... They want any and all eyes on their product and their product only.
