Was meaning "retired" as an euphemism for "ran off, but don't want to get the bad press for making mistakes now or in the future" aka "fired."
YES, thats what I was getting at.
I voted for Charlie at ND to be the one who has it decided for him that he will be retired first. The other 2 may well follow, but last time I was in the area, the ND alums were not exactly thrilled what he has done there since he actually had players he recruited start playing for him. After Quinn left, so did their offense, no matter what the PR machine that Jimmy's family hired for him may tell you.
Did MI make a mistake getting rid of Carr and replacing him with Rod? IMO, yes, he as done no better on the field and has not recruited nearly as well.
As for Michigan and R Rod, I think it's too soon to say .... he'as only had one recruiting class. To soon to say for sure.
While Bowden of FSU has not done all that well as of late, that whole situation reminds me of Penn State, in lots of ways. Just a few years ago, the fans at PS wanted JoPa's head on a platter and now they will
never acknowledge that. Are fans fickle? Sure are, but they also buy the tickets and in turn, pay the salaries.
Yes, they are very simular
