I am trying to get white springs on galaxy 27.I am useing a coolsat 6000 with a standard linear lnb.I have used one of the sat calculators useing my zip code to get my settings.I used the same sat calculator to get galaxy 10.I had no problem getting galaxy 10.I am useing a 40" offset dish.I manually moved the dish to where I thought gal 27 should be.I set the LNB angle,The AZ,and the ELEVATION.I have tried to AUTO SCAN,BLIND SCAN,MANUAL SCAN and PID SCAN.I get no channels.I removed the LINEAR LNB and Replaced It with one of my circular LNB's.I didn't move the dish or any of the settings.I get ECHOSTAR 5.They are scrambled of coarse,But the channels are there with good signal.Does that mean That I am fairly aligned up at 129 degrees,So Gal 27 should scan.I added the Freq, pol,sr,vpid, and apid for white springs.Still can't get anything.I don't know If I am getting some of the settings wrong,Or I am not pointing close enough to the gal 27 sat.I would really like to get that channel. But I may have to give up on it.I also have an old primestar oval dish that gets gal 10 good Any help is much appreciated.

Might not have the skew set properly, it won't matter on the circular polarity-channels but is make or break on the linear sat channels..

white springs on gal 27......

:)Thanks Turbosat for the reply.Yes I know ,When you are useing a linear lnb.The skew of the lnb for H/V polorization is very Important.I understand that because the sats are in a arc position ,The lnb angle has to be changed following the arc to have the H/V polority on the money. Where Circular lnb don't have to be skewed.I have it skewed at 41.6 degree for zip 40324.It skewed correctly for Gal 18 for the KU Linear lnb transponders. But I can't get a signal for gal 27 for white springs.I just want the one channel on gal 27.When I go into DISH POINTING,The freq comes up 5150.I think thats the problem,So I try blind scan, manual scan, and PID scan.Try to enter the white springs freq,Then scan,Nothing,Every time.I am doing something wrong,Just can't figure out what.....

Thanks Qwert1 515 I changed the frequency in dish setting to 10750 useing a linear standard lnbI tried to auto scan.It shows 10 transponders. The Quality green bars come up on trandsponder 5 =11800 tp 8 =11877 tp 9 =11895 tp 10 =12442.But no channels.I even added the frequency for white springs.Still no channels.........

IIRC some people (including me) have had issues getting a lock on Whitesprings, maybe because of the low symbol rate? Sounds like you have already tried it but I couldn't get it until I manually entered the pid info, it came right in when I did that, and I get excellent SQ on that channel.

Thanks phlatwound for the reply.I have tried about everything it seems.I have entered the pid info and still no channels.Im still not doing something right. Thanks again.I will keep trying........

Don't use auto scan, use blind scan. The frequencies you list are not on G27, there are only four:
11778 H 30001
11963 H 2920 (White Springs TV)
12078 V 30000
12100 V 30000
(Note: your frequency - first number - may vary a few numbers either way from mine.)

You might try using one of the ones other than White Springs to point your dish.

Thanks Keith,Do I need to go to dish pointing and change the freq from 5.150 to 10.750 first. Then go to blind scan and add the four frequencies you gave me.Do I have to change the TP SR POL MODE.The TP reads 11.000-12.200 SR READS FULL POL READS ALL MODE READS ALL.I think the POL and MODE is ok.Not sure about the other two.

I have nine channels .Three says POWERVU.Scrambled.I dont know which sat i'm looking at.....

What receiver do you have? It helps to know, then someone who knows the receiver can help with the fine points of setup. Generally, once you set the LNB frequency in the "dish pointing" (or antenna setup, on my receiver) you shouldn't have to change it again.

EDIT: See you have a Coolsat 6000, missed that in re-reading the thread!

Blind scan (or smart scan, on my receiver) scans the whole frequency range (the 11000-12200 range listed above), regardless of what frequencies/polarity/sr you have manually entered or previously scanned. The listing you have above is correct for a full blind scan.

After manually entering the frequencies I listed for G27, you should be able to go to manual or transponder scan and see the signal strength and quality levels without doing a scan. Use that to aim the dish.

What are the frequency/polarity/sr for them? Then we can tell what satellite you are on (I suspect you might be "next door" at 125).

Thanks Kieth,Will do.I think my settings are now set,Just need to move dish and play with it until I hit the signal.Got all the Info put In for a blind scan or manual scan. Now have red bars up on the freq I manually entered.I think I just need ti adjust the dish............

I would set up 129.0°W Galaxy 27 Ku for White Springs like I was finding EchoStar 5 DSS. If you have a circular LNB find EchoStar 5 and tide things down there dish wise.

If you got a circular or DSS LNB put it on there and add Freq: 12458 (R/V) SR: 20000 for the D129 test channel. That will let you know that you’re right on 129 west! :up

Now, using a linear LNB go by the settings below depending on the type of LNB you have, Standard or Universal and manually punch in your transponder for White Springs TV. It will pop in if you’re pointed right. I have given directions on a Coolsat 6000 on how to do it!

Some boxes will not save transponders manually entered without seeing a signal from the TP first, so check and see if the transponder for White Springs is still in there.

LO (LNB) frequency 10750 Standard
LO (LNB) frequency 10600 Universal

Tone Off

Don’t do a “Blind Scan” Just scan the transponder or “One TP Scan”

Manually punch in 11963 H 2920 White Springs TV

On your Coolsat 6000 add a transponder:

1. Press menu on the remote
2. Scroll to Manual Scan to the right
3. Press the green button on the remote for “ADD TP”
4. Enter Frequency: 11963
5. Enter Symbol Rate: 2920
6. Polarization: H Horizontal
7. Search Type: All Channels Or FTA
8. Network Search: Leave Off

Save and exit! Your STB now should be pulling in White Springs!

That is it, hope this helps! :)

Thanks FTABman0.I went out today and did a manual scan and moved the dish just slightly to the west of gal (18 at 123 degree),Got white Springs 82 Quality.I am a happy camper. Thanks everyone for all the help you all have given me.Well I think I will kick back and watch my favorite show (The three stooges)...........
