Which satellites are you picking up with your motorized system?

90cm - KU only

12.5 Atlantic Bird 1
........

148 Echostar 1 - was getting before it went silent

It looks like that list was taken straight from Lyngsat. Can you show us pics of a current date Cleveland newspaper next to your TV showing 12.5 Atlantic Bird channel pic on your STB's Channel Edit screen where the sat and channel ID's are also shown? Keep in mind, there were reported forensic photography experts among SatGuys. ;)

Robby,

I like the prompt that your Universal LNBF is "HD Ready". :up :D

well the elevation for there is about 6 1/2

If I can get Hispasat at 8 elevation he could get that with a 6 elevation (and a heckuva line of site)

72W-129W (& 148W when it had signal), can receive all the usual suspects with good Q, including RTV @ 83W. I have LOS issues below about 60W with my 2 small motorized Ku dishes

System 1: .9m 3ABN/DMX 521/DG-380

System 2: .9 Fortec Star/Inv. Quad/STAB HH90

Robby,

I would be foolish not to take you up on this offer! You are referring to the LKU1-2A? Correct? (I already have a dozen of the QPH-031's.)

If you want to send me one in exchange for a valued report on its operation, I sure can do that. Of course, I tell it straight and give all information without reservation, so if there are any flaws that I find, they must be reported, too. But, I will wade through four feet of snow to get to my dish and install it just to test for everyone's benefit!

If you are OK with that, I will agree to test it and provide an unbiased and detailed report for everyone. I am game if it is Ok with you.

Thank you Robby,

RADAR (Gordy)

It's no problem. All anyone could ask is to for a good review with the good, bad, and ugly.

I got your PM w/ the address. Will ship today.

When the weather is warm, I get everything from 72 to 129. Since it's got cold, I have pretty much stayed between 97 and 101 as the motor isn't responding well in the cold. Might be looking at a different motor come spring, not to thrilled with the SG2100. Haven't been able to get a good enough lock for RTV although I do get the color bars there as well as feeds. My set up is in my signature.

I honestly pick up signals from 12.5. The strongest from that bird
Blind scans in at 11595/H/3504 and when locked on the Fortec dynamic
it shows an ID of "Skylogic" for that transponder. Logs in channels
as radio but I get no audio and suspect they are some sort of
data as one scans in as "IP-Roaming". This transponder in in the
mid 70 to 80+% Quality on th Dynamic. In the last month or so I've
had the station on 11622/H/3255 logged in as "TV Record Portu."
LyngSat shows it as "Record Internacional Europa". Weather does effect
it as I've seen it weak and pixilating and other times in the 40+%
Quality range which is solid on the Dynamic.
To Radar, I looked all over to find the TWH-031. I have the SNH-031
which I purchased from Sadoun (Also the QPH-031 which came with my
motorized dish kit from Sadoun) I wanted the lower frequencies as I
like the Dxing part of the hobby so went looking for the twin so I
could have a second coax attached to my Azbox. I tried a cheaper model
from somewhere else (non sponser) and was unhappy with frequency
drift. I can PM you where I found it but only on request and permission
to do so as I like our sponsers and have purchased from a couple of
them.
To the non-believers, I have nothing to prove and any Satguys are welcome
to stop by my humble home. I live in flat farm ground in Northwest Ohio so I'm
sure that helps. (45879 zip) It took me several weeks and some frustration
to get the dish tracking the arc properly. Even installed alum tubing
braces on the Fortec feed arm due to sag when I went to the far west and
east sats. (with QPH-031 installed) I ended up taking 3 degrees off
my longitude in the USALS setup and now the motor tracks 148 to 30 using
USALS. Past 30 deg I use Diseqc 1.2. Sorry for the long post. A digital
camera is in the near future so pics will follow then.

I assume your flat farm place is located on top of a high mountain newly discovered in Ohio. But I tend to trust your observations (with some reservations for proof). :) As to USALS Off issue, your motor orientation at due south sat position may be off, and needs adjustment. It would most affect your reception on edges of the Arc, which I guess is east of 12.5W and west of 148W. :D

I can vouch for Hindu55, as we have discussed Atlantic Bird 1 at 12.5W in this thread:

Motor on elliptical

I can get 72W to 125W with this dish and a DG-380. Could go farther East but have trees to the West. Also I can only get a few channels on 99W because a large sugar maple is blocking that location.

Someday would like a larger oval dish to replace this one.

So, it is possible to motorize an elliptical dish...

Today's finds and Questions

What can I get with a linear LNB on a 22" dish?
