Hi, I apologize ahead of time for my inexperience, I want to buy a new FTA receiver so my question to you is, what are the differences between the GeosatPro Micro HD, the GeosatPro DSR200c & the Amiko HD-8240...I want to get a good FTA receiver, I have an old Sonicview SV4000 & I dont get any DVB-S2 signals....I have a GeosatPro 1.2meter dish pointed at Hispasat 30, a Invacom QPH-031 LNB, (like I mentioned earlier) I have a Sonicview SV4000 receiver. Im getting a pretty good signal strength at 74% & 99% for quality, I am receiving about 60 TV channels.....I wanted to get the spanish channels from Spain but the foot print is in Europe, just my luck....so now I want to scan the other satellites & see what I can get...anyone have an idea of a good feed where I can watch Soccer(especially from Spain)....Thank you.

Welcome to SatelliteGuys!!!
I highly recommend the microHD. Very well done receiver and works great on DVB-S2 signals.
The DSR200c is mpeg2 only and will not get DVB-S2 signals.
I have no knowledge of the Amiko. The microHD has very great NA support though. The guy that designed it is even here on the boards and is very active to ask questions.

Blue1767,

I echo the sentiments of ke4est.
The GeosatPro MicroHD is an awesome little receiver at a reasonable price.
Its easy to set up, does a great job of scanning satellites, the support is fantastic and the HD picture quality is outstanding.
I've owned one for several months now and and very happy with my purchase.

Thank you very much for the info gentlemen(ke4est, JFOK & Blindowl1234)....I dont want to buy somethig & then have it in the closet collecting dirt, lolol....Thank you again.
BTW anyone have an answer to my second query as to which satellite is great for catching sports(soccer)...Im sick & tired of streaming via the internet.

Soccer on Ku-band? Not sure for Spain. Lots of Middle Eastern and some European soccer on 97W channels. The Azteca feeds on 93W will usually carry some Mexican team games. You can get some occasional Mexican and American soccer feeds that pop up anywhere from 123W to 85W.

Thank you for the info...I will get to it as soon as I get the GeosatPro micro HD receiver, for now its sold out here in Montreal.

Yea, there are less than half a dozen legit S2 receivers, and a bunch of no-name Chinese boxes with no support.
Decent receivers used to go for $350+, but for that you can get TWO microHD boxes, and a nice 36" dish!

Sounds like you need to motorized that 1.2m GeoSat dish.
Let me suggest the DG380 from Sadoun.

hmm, I see the tool and the mirco for $135, I have a tool very similair to that one I bought from him a few years ago, it's a phillip works great.
