to fully answer your origional question, NO receiver comes with a backlit remote, they are all optional, and im being told now that what remote you receive is up to the tech, and i dont believe they carry backlit remotes.

Jimbo, I believe the K means "kit" It comes with the external antenna. The non-K models don't include the antenna. Since some receivers have built-in antennas, I guess it's a way to save a little for D*.

Btw, got my RC65RB's the day after I ordered them, once I got them set up, they are GREAT !
I got 2, one for the HT room and one for the bedroom.
