Which receiver comes with the RC65RBX remote. or the RC65RB remote.
I found a guy that has a pile of dtv recievers brand new in the box and he is gonna sell me a couple remotes out of them, but I want either a RC65RBX or RC65RB, so if you know which receiver it comes with, it might save opening a bunch of boxes at random.

The newest ones is what I would guess.

as of a month or so ago directv has been packaging remotes as a separate piece of equipment and no longer in the boxes with the receivers. We now get the remotes in boxes of 10 by themselves.

So, as an installer, who determines what type of remote you give them ?

the boxes and remotes are color coded blue, green or red.
blue = RC65
GREEN=RC65X
RED=RC65RX
We are supposed to use the blue on standard def equipment and use the green on everything else unless we are dealing with a situation needing an RF remote then we use the red. I'll post a pic of an HR24 in a minute.

It depends on the retailer/contractor. We are able to still order what ever we want with or without accessories. The hr24 by default comes with a uhf remote.

I hate it. Just another piece of inventory to keep up with. No choice with us

The ones with "B" are backlight remotes if I'm not mistaken.

So, is the Red one RC65RX the RF/ Backlit one ?

I would like to try one some time ...

Looks like it would be a RC64RBK, which I see are available from Amazon ...

Has anyone used one, how do you like them ?

Guys, what the difference between the RC64RBK and the RC64RB ?

What does the K stand for ?

Btw, Solid Signal also has them, they run about $ 50, for that I might look into a Universal Remote instead, unless I can find them cheaper.

SS's website is showing them as being discontinued.

I have a RC65RBX which is the latest model and lights up.$23 on eBay but I posted in another thread a link to a website that has all the remotes for directv at similar prices.
