GOOD REVIEW....I own a Coolsat4000 pro and want to get a differnt model. Do I bu y the 5000 or the 6000 or something else. From what I read, I could not do much better than the 5000, but i wish I knew more about the directory of coming events. The 4000 leaves a lot ot be desired. I am new to thie site, and I really enjoy the ease that one can locate topics, subjects. etc... Big Dumy.

I have a CS5k and like it, but it is not my main receiver. I use a Fortec Merc II for that. Overall, the 5k was nice to learn on and play with and I like the way it is setup.

I am wondering now if it is worth it to wait for the new coolsat models to come out before upgrading. I am not informed really on the new models, but I see they mention HD models and IP models on the website. I am curious how the new ones will work as I might upgrade to one of them when the come out and get reviewed.

I've got a Coolsat 5000 and really like it. The interface is very nice, the blind scan is fast and the motor control is nearly flawless.

The 6000 has more memory for holding more EPG data but that's pretty much irrelevant for FTA since almost none of the channels have EPG data to begin with.
