When Were Dish Subs Informed They Would NOT Be Getting The MLB Package?

I'm wondering how much notice Dish Network gave their subscribers that they would no longer carry the MLB package. I'm wondering because it sounds like Dish may also decide to not carry NHL Center Ice and I will NOT let them have me wait until the season begins to switch to Directv to get it!

Officially the first week after the season started. However, we had pretty much assumed long before Charlie wouldn't pony up.

What makes you think they won't be carrying Center Ice?

Because only Dish Network is not taking orders for the service, and because i got a cryptic response from them when inquiring about it. Essentially they are "working on our deal" with NHL Center Ice which sounds ominously like they do not have a deal with them. I am truly scared that they will not be picking it up this year.

MLB/Directv were in a much stronger bargaining position. The NHL is not, IMO. Who knows, maybe Dish's CI subscribers will end up surprised by a better deal than what they had last year.

Unfortunately with MLB they pretty much left the EI subscribers hanging....even after the season started they stated that while they were pessimistic that a deal could be reached, they would still try. Eventually they made a final announcement but the dead deal was pretty obvious by then.

CI doesn't start until the first night of the season, so I wouldn't panic just yet. If you're that worried you could pay the termination fee and switch to DirecTv. Then you're assured of getting it.

I just switched from E* to D* last week and when I had my "exit interview" (heh) with E*, I mentioned the loss of MLB EI as one of the reasons (I love MLB and ESPN Gameplan and wanted to try ST) for leaving and I mentioned also hearing that they may not carry NHL CI and the CSR pretty much confirmed they weren't, "but we should have it back next year!". It's a CSR, so take it with a grain of salt, but the way they are dealing with it is identical to EI.

Thanks Stonephillips!
