Whats your strongest sat signal on ku?

I noticed how strong the signal was again today, on AMC1 ku. I check out the surf cam on the microspace channels once in a while, and was getting a 75/85 signal. That made me wonder why it was so great a signal, since I rarely get anything about 60 on this Ultra sat signal meter. Not that it matters a lot, just curious of what others may find for the strongest ku signal they routinely get. The religious channel on AMC6 used to hit 99 quality but I have readjusted the dish tracking and it doesnt get that high any more now. AMC1 must be on hi-octane!!

The religious guy on AMC6 did go down in signal quality a while back..

For me the strongest is IA8 or G3..both are very strong

3ABN on AMC4 blows the meter dang near

My Fortec Mercury is pegged at a steady 97 level & quality on AMC4 (TP 11822).

Not sure why it comes in so strong - even the Echostar birds max out in the high 80's/low 90's!

The 3ABN link budget probably has the most to do with the "miraculously" strong signal. LOL!

Most of the religious FTA channels are targeted at direct-to-home viewers, so they have to boost their signal/error correction to allow for reasonable sized (30") dishes to receive them with ease. Many of the FTA channels that are uplinked for broadcasters don't have to worry about signal quality since they're generally received on much larger dishes.
