Galaxy 17 is a standard Ku satellite running 11.7 to 12.2 Gigahertz linear polarity.

Nimiq is a direct broadcast satellite for Bell Expressvu running at 12.2 to 12.7 Gigahertz circular polarity..

(Plus or minus a few Megahertz each way :) Those are just rough numbers, but I think you'll get the idea. )

2 different purpose birds that are parked pretty close in space..

Their not the same...to pickup G17 you need either a standard or universal LINEAR lnb. Nimiq 1 uses a CIRCULAR lnb and is used for Bell tv.

There's a couple spots like that where there are a DBS satellite & a KU satellite in the same ortbital spot

They can coexist because the frequencies dont cross

If your setting up a FTA point it to the nim-1 with a linear lnb and dial it in . Then do a blind scan of g17. This will work, nim-1 is strong and it was bleeding over my g-17 signal. When I scanned I saw I actually had the bird.
