What's the catch? DVR 510s and 301s

So I switched over to Comcast HD service back in March. I've had 2 x 510s and 2 x 301s to sell but have not prioritized it since they were going for around $100 and $25 on eBay back in that timeframe.

I log in to eBay today and start looking around so that I can finally list them and the average auction price has jumped up considerably. I am not so naive not to realize that some models are potentially hackable and that accounts for the jump in price.

I still want to sell the receivers. However, I am concerned that some amateur hack will jack with the hardware and fail and end up asking for a refund. What if they get caught? Do I call dish and say the hardware was sold on an auction and that it should no longer be associated with my account?

Any experiences from you guys would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I would call Dish and have them (receivers) cleared so you can resell them. Then just list them and take the highest bid :D . If someones willing to pay big bucks for them so be it. Now if they come right out and ask hack question about them I would reject there bid.

Put them in the classifieds here. Heck, I'd be interested in either one of them. I am looking for a receiver for the workshop.

But I think he needs to be a donor to place something into the Classified section.

Yup... sorry bout that

Long time lurker of the board and first time poster. Figured it would be the best place to get the scoop since the price jump had been so significant (50-100 percent increase in what they were selling for 6 months ago).

No big deal on post count, BTW welcome. Let me know when you want to sell, I might be interested in one of them.

Listed on eBay tonite

Put 2 x 510s on eBay. I put a reserve on them that's competitive with what's listed and sold recently. Happy bidding for those interested. Shoot me a message if you are interested in them. I would consider closing the auction early if there are no other bidders and you meet my price point.

Can a deactivated 921 still record OTA?
