Whats the best Media Player up to date?

I believe this Patriot has also space for a SATA netbook drive inside.

Diogen.

Sure does.. I just placed a WD6400BEVT 640GB 2.5 SATA HDD into it I purchased from Frys locally and works great. I am transferring my DVD/BR/H264/AVI/MKV files via ethernet as we speak.

So what's the best Media Player to get now?
WD Live Plus? Patriot? Roku?

I mainly just play MKV stuff at 1080p via HDMI and am tired of using my laptop to do it.
But may like the option for Netflix for the future or any other stuff...
Thanks for any suggestions!

Rob, you should check out some of Scott's different product reviews. Sounds like the Boxee is the one to get at this point.

The PS3 is working nicely for me at this point.

If Netflix is a must, Patriot can't be in the list.
WDTV Live Plus is probably the cheapest way to get there.

Also, some Blu-ray players can play MKVs...

The wife is telling me to stay under $120. So it looks like either the WD Live Plus or the Patriot.
I'm swaying towards the WD Live Plus since it seems like it can do anything the Patriot can and has good firmware support?

The Boxee and the new Netgear 550 look pretty cool if you have $200....

There is one thing the WD doesn't have that the Patriot does: space for an internal hard drive.

Obviously is of relative value...
