What would you ask A-Rod in today's press conference?

I wonder what this guy is like in person, away from the field? He strikes me as being an idiot. Apparently he can't be trusted to do his own thinking. He acts like he is "above" all this. He better find another PR service, this one forgot to tell him that hanging with his cousin is not the brightest thing to do right now. Maybe all those 'roids scrambled his brains.

I have dealt with him MANY times Paul in baseball charity events throughout Miami and he has sponsored quite a few of the boys I coach basketball tournaments when they are not playing baseball....and he is a complete arrogant ass!! Not in a very vocal way....but the way he carries himself. I have ALSO see him in events WITH HIS FAMILY and it it a complete Jekyll/Hyde thing....and honest to goodness family man that actually LOOKS and SOUNDS like a humble guy. Also, my best friend is a Miami-Dade cop that does alot of security for big games in football, basketball and baseball games throughut the county....and he states A-Rod has attended quite a few of the games, especially if Miami Christian is involved(his high school alma mater)...and he has confirmed this many times with countless stories.

And YOU keep missing the point and comparing apples to oranges. NO ONE is EVER going to come out and just say...."oopps, I f***ed up and took PEDs....." before THEY HAVE TO.....no one! When THIS MUCH money AND reputation is at stake.....to them, it is better to NOT tell the truth.

....Here is a better example....I would say, that 7 out of 10 or even 9 out of 10 that are cheating on their spounces....will initial LIE because what is at stake.

I guess you don't have kids because parents I know always tell there kids, " I would rather have you tell me the truth from the start than to make matters worse with a lie." And for those spouses who cheat and lie when they are caught, you don't think the lie to start with will make matters worse or prolong the situation?

I am not saying people come out and admit to things. I am saying when you are caught, and you admit to those issues, you better tell the truth from the start or you will make matters worse. Anyone to just accept lying as easily as you do, I just don't understand.

EXACTLY, that's the crux of the A-Rod* debate: Why did he feel he needed to add those ridiculous excuses and reasons for using PEDs?? Why didn't he learn from someone like Andy Pettitte's presser last year, keep it short & sweet, admit you did wrong, implicate no one but yourself, and don't add absurd angles that you know the press will hunt down.

This was all done with a high-powered and expensive PR team. Maybe he would have been better off consulting with some of us first!!!

Your guess is as good as mine. Like I said, he has ALOT more to lose than Petitt did when he got nailed. Maybe he is hiding names....using the same "code" that cops use when they don't wanna turn in the bretheren(sp?) when they are dirty.
Frankly, I don't care. I got from him, as a pro ball player, what I wanted. He admitted to it and apologized.....that's it...end of story..nothing to see so move along! He does not owe ANYONE ANYTHING except 40+ homers, 125+ RBIs and approx. .300+ batting average...THAT IS IT!

The reason I have not brought up MLB is because our discussion was based upon my observation that A-Rod has been the one who has pro-longed this entire thing. A-Rod is in no legal trouble and is in no trouble of losing his millions because of this. He, for whatever reason, has not been forthright. The Yankees have even told him, according to the media, the famous cousin he mentioned is not welcome around their camp. Now, maybe it is just me but you would think A-Rod would be smart enough to know that without being told, considering all of the media attention on him and that cousin.

However, to imply it is ok to lie or at least to excuse it because he has millions of dollars at stake is excusing the lie all together. To a kid maybe ten's of dollars at stake would be reason to lie. Are you ok with that? Money like most things are relative. A hundred dollars to us might be nothing but to someone else it is a lot of money. A person's reputation is how they will be looked at throughout their life. Yes, A-Rod will be loved and adored by baseball fans and the GM's that employ him as long as he continues to produce and help them win ballgames. But, at the end of the day A-Rod will be judged by his involvement with PED's and how he handled the aftermath. To this point he has achieved a failing grade. American's are a forgiving lot. However, that goes for people who tell the truth from the start and not act like any old story will do and I can make silly excuse's to get past this situation. Again, A-Rod is own own worse enemy.
