I thought yellow jackets were my biggest FTA problem. Until now. A woodpecker decided to remove my plastic lens on one of my LNB's. Does it matter what plastic I use or how thick it is for a replacement?

Not as long as it is not some sort of plastic with a metal mesh in it or impregnated with metal filings.

Many plastics will break down when subject to extended ultraviolet light (anywhere outdoors) exposure.
So stabilizers are added to lessen the problem.
In today's green culture, trash bags and soda bottles probably won't have the additives.
Keep in mind the intended use, when you choose a plastic. ;)
?.

Come to think of if, I'll bet a 1mm piece of glass would be perfect!
...though it wouldn't do well under woodpecker attack.... ;)
?.

And the winner is...

A plastic spray paint can lid! So quick and easy took less than a minute to cut the sides of it off and insert it into the slot. I didn't even bother to get a color that matched, just grabbed a can of flat gray primer and pulled the lid.

?thanks!
