What to do if "Voom Conversion Office" called you

I e-mailed the CEO's office at Echostar with all the information and the couple of direct lies that the CSR told me. The guy at the call line gave me a cell phone number directly for him as well...lol So I forwarded all the information to Echostar and told them that because of these slimmy creatures I had a bad taste in my mouth about Echostar and would be going with Directv. They actually promptly e-mailed me back asking for my contact number and said they would be taking action on this company. I recommend others contact Echostar about it, I am sure this is not the way they want to get new customers.

How about givin us the CEO's Email address so I can complain. I got a call Saterday and talked to supervisor, Advised them that the lackof info on the caller ID was a NO NO and I was going to post info on the voom forum as to what slimmmie operation they run, she informed me that she would pass the info upstaire. Said she was sorry and removed me from there DNC List. The first two reps hungup on me.

What a nice company.

This company, Satellite County is in Austin Texas.

You can fiile a consumer complaint with the State of Texas:

"Links Removed to Post"
Hope that helps!

Roland, Where you speaking to me?

If so I do want the CEO's of Dish's Email address so I can complain. I'm at no loss for places to complain.

I just thought ScottDurand had done the same and would pass on the address he used so things would go to the same address.

Thanks

This was just a general comment - if the State of Texas gets enough complaints about Satellite County they might do something. One or two compaints will not be enough. That is the way the government works.

FCC is the same way. They have to have a bunch of complaints about a company before they go after them.

So the more people that file complaints, the better.

If Mr. Thompson from the "Voom Conversion Office" called you to switch to dish either through a pre-recorded message with call back number or if you had a live call and are on the Do Not Call registry, here is what you need to do.

1. Make note of the call-back number.

2. Make note of the time.

3. Go to www.donotcall.gov This is the website of the FCC Do Not Call Registry.

4. (Optional) On the left menu "Verify a Registration" You will be asked to enter your phone number and email. Your email need not be the one you registered with. It just needs to be your current email. Submit it. You will get an email verifying whether or not your number is on the DNC list.

5. If it is on the DNC list, on the main page is "File A Complaint"

6. Click it. You will need to enter your phone number, the approximate time of the call and the return phone number. Company name as well if you know it.

These guys have NOTHING to do with DISH. They are sharks that somehow got VOOM's customer list.

7. Burn the SOB bottom feeders. :D

8. Lather, rinse, repeat!!! ;) Actually don't repeat. hehehehehe It won't do any good. I am sure a complaint is only considered once.

9. Pop the top on a brewski and enjoy your time left with VOOM.
What if that call was one you really wanted? Someone calls to ask if you wanted to continue the service under some other suppliers name. Would not the best way to do that is via satellite signal? Keep some channel/s going and do not kill the cards. Then after some deal is made with another vendor, just post a message " For a good time call BR549" Whatever.

Im in cail and I just had that message on my machine..Call for your sat upgrade...lol........Now if they said to call so you wont lose your Voom21, that woud be another story.....Just look how stressed it made me....

I also received a pre-recorded message from "Spencer Nelson" of "DISH" at 2:53 pm today. I called "DISH TV" and asked how they got my phone number. He said that they got my information from VOOM. I told him that I was not aware that VOOM had released my information to "DISH". I asked the gentleman if they were "DISH" or DISHNETWORK". He said he was representing DISH and that they used to install "ZOOM" systems. I told him unless he was able to provide me with TWO, not ONE DISH 942s, there wasn't much he could do for me. I told him when I contacted "DISH NETWORK" directly they said their promo doesn't allow for more than one DISH 942 per household at this time.

I did a Google and info.com search, here is an excerpt of the results:

MI DISH TV Michael Espinosa Detroit area 800-684-3474

This pre-recorded message from "DISH" correlates with what my husband told me: He said that someone from DISH has been calling our home everyday for the past week asking when we wanted to have "DISH" installed. My husband has repeatedly told them that we have not decided on what satellitle or cable provider we were going to sign up with and told the person to stop calling.

This may be a bit on the extreme side, but honestly, to lay precedent for Dishnetwork to have to take action on this type of spamming from their installers, I have informed Dishnetwork that, THIS type of marketing helped make my decision to go with Directv. It may not be fair for Dish but it will make it evident to the installers that we will not fall for a hoax. These guys are making it seem like they are doing you a favor. There are no favors in business only marketing and schemes. This is not marketing, it is a scheme. They will tell you whatever it takes, like they told me, "yea Tennis Channel we got you covered" total BS. Yea Voom21 we got that....next thing you know they will be telling you every channel is Mpeg4....lol

I just listened to my call from the "Conversion Center" and gave them a quick call at their 800 number (hey, it's their dime).

The CSR fumbled through their offer, which was VERY misleading on pricing and hardware.

I'm emailing Dish corporate with a complaint.

Did VOOM sell their customer list to these yahoos?

I think we all should register Michael Espinosa at 800-684-3474 with every porno or religious extremism site on the Web so he gets tons of junk calls and spam.

I told the people at Satellite Country (Voom Conversion Center) to not call me on the phone, in email, and on their website.

They continue to call.

I am on the do no call list. Also, every call is logged with my voip service.
I will file a complaint against these scumbags for each and every call.

I have also informed Dish Network that we are seriously considering going to some other service because of these scumbags.

We had dish network for 5 years before going with Voom. How about you lose a long time customer because of these scumbags?

Look what comes up on a Google Usenet search about Satellite Country:

Seems they used to spam fax people!

Subject: Spam faxing by Satellite Country - join in class action suit
Reply to Author | Forward | Print | Individual Message | Show original | Report Abuse

Satellite County, an Austin, Texas-based satellite TV installer, is
spam faxing in the Sacramento area.

This is an explicit violaiton of the federal Telephone Consumer
Protection Act of 1991, and Satellite Country is liable for damages,
$1,500 per fax (perhaps plus legal fees) (treble damages apply
because, in a phone call at 1245PT today to Ms. McCue of Satellite
Country in Austin TX at 512-447-3474, she admitted knowing of the law
before the fax was sent).

Anyone else interested in joing with me in a class action suit?
Any Sacramento attorney interested in easy money?

For details, look at this URL with the Sunday story from the New York
Times:
