First off, this is my first post. I tried searching similar subjects on this matter, but found nothing. Heres what I'm trying to do. I just recently got an 811 HD. I want to get the Voom channels also, but they tell me I need another dish on my house and hand them $99. I have an HD Oval Directv dish thats not being used......will that work? Or is it not "compatible" with Dish? What are my cheapest options.
Thanks

Dont know where you live, but if you have a local channel on 61.5, you can get the second dish installed free (IF you dont mention Voom when you call to order the freebie). Post up your location, and someone can let you know if you are eligible.

if u have the 500 legacy use a sw44 and any direct tv dish and or dish 300 legacy.

If you have a dish 500 pro use a dp44 or dp34 and a dish 300 pro.

If you have a superdish with a dp34 replace it with a dpp44 and get a dish pro 300.

aim at 61.5

I am in Mansfield, Ohio
Thanks
Welcome to the forum!

I believe Mansfield belongs to Cleveland-OH DISH Local Networks Package. If so, there are at least a couple of local channels in that package that come from the 61.5 satellite. So, you should be entitled to a free second dish install if you get the local package.

Good luck!

Do I just need to call them and tell them I am missing these channels then?
Thanks

its a spanish and shopping channel, and yes I am from mogadore so I know what you are going through, just call them and tell them you want the other local channels from cleveland, DONT SAY A WORD ABOUT VOOM! let the installer come out and do his thing, they will probably say that its just a spanish and shopping or some stupid channel I forget what the other one is and too lazy at this point to go in the other room and look, but get your 61.5 dish and then a day later or even right after the installer leaves, call again and have your voom channels activated, you are all set to go, your dish willbe free if you have cleveland locals!

I called them just now. First off, they told me there were no channels on that 61.5, so I told them the specific channels, and he says " of yes, you get those at no charge." They will be out in a week to hook up another dish for free! I was just about to go ahead and pay the $99 to get it hooked up, but then I thought screw it, i'll do some research first, and then I found this forum. Thanks for the help from everyone!
