Well so far the ones I will DVR to evaluate for the new season:

Chuck (liked the 622 preview)
Journeyman (maybe need more episodes to know for sure)
Bionic Woman (cannot wait to see this)
Private Practice (will give it a chance)
Dirty Sexy Money (I do not know but ABC HD tends to good good, will check out but may be to soapy)
Reaper (Maybe a Ghostrider ripoff, but why not)
Moonlight (vampires are always fun)

Well at least a few shows look interesting.

For now I am going to try:

Back to You (FOX) My pick as a best bet.
The Big Bang Theory (CBS) - likely DOA but made by Chuck Lorre
Samantha Who? (ABC) - Sleeper?
Aliens in America (CW) - Looks wildly funny.
Carpoolers (ABC)

I'll give almost all of them a try with a record once option; and if I like, I will change the timer to record new. :D

BTW, another good issue of TV Guide is out; provides sneak peaks for many returning shows. Last week, focused on NEW shows.

Here are the shows we are going to try:
Samantha Who?
Big Bang Theory
Aliens In America
Chuck
Reaper
Back to You
Big Shots

and maybe,
Viva Laughlin (on a very short leash) :)

then later;
Swingtown
Rules for Starting Over
the i.t. crowd
Cashmere Mafia
Eli Stone
Lipstick Jungle

Big Bang Theory looks like it'll be pretty funny, BIG fan of Kaley C., so I've got DVR space set for that...

I, like Yaz will be giving Viva Laughlin a shot as well! Can't go wrong with Hugh Jackman!?

after the past two years of canceled shows, i will not be watching any new shows. if something gets good reviews and then gets renewed for a second season, i will pick it up on dvd.

i am tired of investing my time with these networks that don't give the shows a chance to succed.

i am going to dvr heroes. i watched the first season last week and enjoyed it.

I too find it annoying to watch a few episodes of a series to find out it is cancelled. Used to be at least a full season, then 12-13 episodes would be ordered, then 9, now down to 3 in some cases. How do you prove yourself in 3 episodes?

Same here, I've had it with the networks and can find better things to do with my time.

NightRyder

Prison Break (A thrilling show as I wait for "24" next year)

Back to You (I loved Kelsey Grammer from "Frasier")

King of the Hill (Just some good 'ol down to home humor)

Desperate Housewives (I'm still watching it even though, like "Lost" it's fallen quite a bit from Season 1)

Supernatural (I like the sci-fi channel so it's the kind of series that fits my tastes)

Friday Night Lights (I just love this show)

CSI:Miami (household hasnt tired of it yet)
Journeyman (watched the download and want to give it a chance)
NCIS (They always entertain us)
House (watched some re-runs this summer and liked it)
Dirty Sexy Money (Saw some previews and want to give it a shot)
Criminal Minds (last chance - was losing interest)
Bionic Woman (just because)
CSI:New York (again... household vote)
Pushing Daisies ( considering this one... not sure yet)
Survivor China (havent missed one yet)
CSI (""""")
Without A Trace (getting bored)
Ghost Whisperer
Women's Murder Club ( Angie Harmon from Law & Order will get a shot)
Numbers
Moonlight (always had a thing for vampires)
Stargate Atlantis (finally catching up)
Cold Case

We have never set up this many to record but the external hard drive made us brave. These are the ones I could look ahead and find.

Wwatched the pilot for life and bionic woman last night, on the previews on the 622.
Added Life toom, it looks like it might get a little too moddy for me, i may get fed up with all the "angst"
Like the Bionic woman twist of good and bad one, wonder how long the stories will last.
