What is the poison pill

  • Server Issues.

We are very aware that there have been system issues the past few days. In troubleshooting the system, it has been determined that the issue is at our provider and is hardware related. As of 12:05 PM ET our provider has moved us to a new server.

Things seem to be running better on this new server. However in trying to diagnose the issue (before finding out it was a hardware issue) we made some system changes which we need to undo. So if you find any issues or errors please let us know in the Operations Center Forum.

Thank you for your patience! Sorry for the issue!

What is Dish sending in the video stream that keeps an Avermedia card from seeing the HDMI and the component output? The composite works fine. This is on OTA stuff and even the menu screens.
I can understand if they automatically clip DRM on everything on the HDMI but component is just supposed to be an analog signal

I got on the Avermedia web sit and still have no idea idea of what it is/does...just who it's marketed to...teachers.

I use a Hauppauge DVR 1212, component input from my H2 put works even on HBO and other movie channels - in HD, too.

Unfortunately on the last HBO free preview, there was only one move worth saving.

Jim, from what I am seeing on some other BBs, do not update your driver. It appears they are adding some serious DRM to these things and it is catching things that should not even be protected. The buzz is, if I could find the old driver, this card would work Avermedia HD DVR (C027)
Their tech support just says they don't know anything about anything.
