What is the highest Q reading have you guys have had on your legitimate free to air receivers like the Micro Hd or Amiko alien for example. Ku band or C band I have got the Micro Hd up to 85 Q on C band at my old bosses house using his c band dish. 75% Q on my ku band dishes especially on 30w.

Every receiver displays quality differently. The ALI-based receivers, however, seem to be very similar, and the highest I've ever gotten on one (either the Openbox S9 or the microHD) is 76Q.

% is probably the dumbest thing to hit the satellite market, it means nothing, its like comparing different stereo amp's by looking at volume % its relative and isnt meaningful.

We have this great thing called SNR its measured in a scientific method called decibels, there are even mathematical calculations that can be done to determine min SNR required for a specific modulation/fec etc.

But instead fta receievers, linux and windows all alike chose to use %

blows my mind.

C-Band with an AzBox Prem Plus HD on 99W @ 100% Q on a few occasions, presently @ 91% on that TP. I think the dish/LNBF position has changed a little. On the 10 ft. mesh dish, I get about 82% on most TP's in C-Band.
?Ku-Band about 85% on GeoSatPro 90cm dish with both the AzBox Prem Plus HD and the AzBox MiniMe Amer. Ed.

Pansat 1500..99
Coolsat 5000...85 on old software 99 on new
MicroHD I've seen 82 but mostly 76-77
AZBox can hit 100

I've had mine up around 86% maximum, and that took a Prodelin 1.8m dish to get it. Ku is usually 76-77. My average for C-band on a 10 ft though, is 71, and holds good through just about the worst thunderstorm you can get.

Like updatelee said, it's all relative. WOuld be nice if they'd show SNR as it's a definite value. But here with the S9 most are 70-78, some in the 60's, with the highest being around 83-85 but be danged if I can remember where those are.
