WHAT is going on in the New England area??!!

I hope the cheaters blow it next week.

Billacheat and his Cheatriots need a dose of reality.

personally I have no problems with any team making good moves. the problem is when they are only able to execute because of money or whena league actively favors one team or the others---usually to havea presence in one of the big media markets. Besides the Colts and virtually every othe rteam has made moves (like getting Vinatireris) to build their team. And I doubt that the pats will be the first team in history to lose during their bye week.

You make sense, but I will be the first to admit that, on this subject, I have no objectivity. As long as Belichick is on the NE sideline, I will HATE everything to do with the Patriots.

The Bruins have had a lot of success historically. At one time they held the record for the most consecutive seasons in the playoffs. But the last few years not so much. if you recall that is why Bourque left. He just wanted a shot at the cup and frankly few if any Bruins fans blamed him. As for the Celts everyone is just assuming that they will win their division and perhaps the East. Who knows. The additon of a new big three would certainly seem to have made them better (they were AWFUL last year) but heck all three could get hurt in the first ten games.

I'm thinking the same thing about the Celtics. I remember when the Lakers got Malone and Payton to ad to Shaq and Kobe. Everyone thought we had a dream team - then dissension, ego and injuries played its role.

What si the Eastern football title?

Before 1990 when Penn State joined the Big Ten and 1991 when the Big East was created, Most of those teams were independents, the best teams in the east won the Eastern Football title, "The Beast of the East" is what we always called it, seemed like it was always Penn State or Pitt when I was growing up.

Pitt won Eastern football titles in 1925, 1927, 1929, 1931, 1932, 1934, 1936, 1937, 1955, 1976, 1979, 1980, and won a co-share of the Big East Conference championship and received a BCS bowl berth in 2004.

1976 Pitt were National Champions. along with 1915, 1916, 1918, 1929, 1937, 1931, 1934 and 1936

Plus since 1936 the best team in the east has won the Lambert-Meadowlands Trophy, I know it's not really a big deal compared to a National title, but it's something.:)
