I've been scanning the skies with my C-Band and Fortec receivers, and I haven't seen much in the way of CBS feeds, other than CBS Newspath up on Ku. I've seen NBC, "The CW", ABC and FOX feeds up there, but never CBS. I'm assuming that they're up on satellite, because to fibre those feeds to the stations seems inefficient.

Any ideas what CBS is using? I'd love to find some Survivor feeds etc :)

The HD stuff is sent from T6/IA6/G26 C-Band. I better not post it on this open forum, although it is posted on lyngsat as an occassional feed, which it is. Look at lyngsat and the feeds with the very high SR's. I think the east feed is 4080? But, it's one of them. There is also a west HD feed and also a CW HD amongst those feeds. On C-Band, you can find an SD CBS on the Carribean mux on G4/G16, and there are a couple on G3, that I don't think are listed on lyngsat?
But, you probably mean ku-Band, and I don't know of any CBS on ku, other than what you've already mentioned?

Yes, I have seen the Carribean mux, and have watched that CBS channel. I was just hoping to find some source feeds because I figured that they'd have the best picture quality. I don't have an HD setup, just a standard 4:2:0 Fortec receiver on my tv at the moment.. The CW and NBC station feeds have a pretty nice picture because they pump enough bandwidth into it :)

Thanks, I'll go hunting on some of those other birds to see what I can find.

Fun Fun Fun :)

CBS SD is distributed to stations using Digicipher 2 Combo Mode on one transponder on Galaxy 25 Cband and one transponder on Galaxy 26 Cband. 4dtv can't receive these. A commercial receiver is required.

Thanks photoman76.

I'm just happy that I can get the Carribean mux of channels and can actually watch Survivor and other CBS shows without having Global TV, CityTV, or CTV here in Canada. On Bell ExpressVu, they override the signal continually with the local stations. I just had hopes to be able to catch the source feed. Oh well..

Cw Hd Feed?

I have never been able to find the CW HD feed on T6/IA6/G26 C-Band. Is it in 4:2:2? I do locate a CWD signal; the Coolsat 8K identifies it as a "CBS Worldwide Distribution" feed and there are four channels. But, it is usuually blank for picture.

Is that the CW feed?

Nope, 4:2:0

That must be something else, maybe secondary affilliate or syndication type stuff. The CW HD and the 2 CBS HD feeds are on 3 different TP's and by themselves. None of them are 4:2:2, and they are only on during the Network Showtimes. The CW HD feed does east & west coast feeds. The CBS HD does the east coast on one feed and the west coast on another feed.

Is CW the Same Symbol Rate as CBS?

Can you answer without stating the coordinates?

I have CBS East and West and have been able to locate sports feeds on this Bird. But I haven't found CW even with the Traxis 3500; the Traxis will scan in an HD channel, but all I will get is a blank screen. Still, once I know an HD channel is there, I can plug in the coordinates on the Coolsat. I use this method to locate sporting events.

It will have to wait till primetime tonight. I recently did a Factory Reset on my Qualitv and lost everything. I looked in my Pansat and Coolsat and it's not in either, as I use them for scanning, and I keep the scanned TP's pretty cleaned out. Since my Reset, I've only re-entered ABC HD and CBS HD and PBS HD. I'll try to remember to get it tonight for you?

Thanks!

I feel your pain! My Coolsat reset on its own acouple of weeks ago; its not so much fun to re-scan things in.

I have been reading about the Quali TV; it seems very useful for sports feeds (particularly to receive 4:2:2).

If I wasn't @ to remodel and have to go to an apartment, I would consider one.

The picture on the CBS C band HD sports feeds are amazing!

Glad you found it, I almost forgot, but I did come through. I looked and found it about 8:50p.m. I come on-line to PM you and been catching up with Linuxman's OTA thread, finally finished it. I'm a slow reader? I'll PM it anyway, along with MyTV, in case you want it?

Thanks

I found MY TV a while back. As for CW, I probably missed it because of lack of patience.

Is Movie Central HD no longer being broadcast on FTA?

There was a thread about Movie Central a week or so back. It was moved to the WUT (what's up there) area. Basically it said that it's there, but no longer available to us. Sorry, I will miss it also...
