What HD channels does Dish NOT have?

I have looked around to find this out, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I know that Dish has the most HD programming available right now, but I was wondering...what other national networks have HD signals available right now that are NOT on Dish? Does Dish pretty much have everything out there?

Is there a good forum for discussion of HD programming around? I seem to recall that maybe AVS forum had one, but I'm not positive...I guess I'll go see. :)

Anyways, was just wondering what all is potentially out there in terms of HD programming.
 
Well most of the channels Dish does not have in HD almost no one else does either. But even without the channels listed above Dish still has more HD than anyone else.. So its simple if you want HD Dish is the way to go for sure.
 
i'm actually getting hooked up in the morning. i got my pre-install phone call. i asked her about whether they would need to leave my Dish 500 antenna in place so that i can receive the CBS-HD feed...she didn't know anything about it and said to just talk to the install guy about it, but i'm assuming i'll need that extra dish, no?
 
Chances are you will only need a dish 1000. I had mine installed last week in western KY. Everything is running great so far. I haven't had a single issue with the 622.
 
so...if i want to use 61.5, i need to keep BOTH dishes, or the 1000 will work fine on its own?
 
Back to the original subject.. what HD channels Dish does not have..

For those areas with HD locals.. MyTV, CW, PBS and other available independent locals are not a part of the line up along with the sub channels available OTA.

I may be asking for too much but I am too far (80 miles line of site with mountains in the way to boot) to get any of that stuff OTA.

i didn't mean to veer off-topic, but now i'm trying to fill in the gaps before my install tomorrow morning.

what is the benefit of leaving one dish pointed at 61.5 vs. just using the 1000 for everything?

what extra parts/pieces/gadgets is the install dude (or dudette) gonna need (and probably not have) to make this happen?

back ON topic...i found a great list of HD programming at the AVS Forum website:

the site has been very slow today and load times are horrible...keeps giving a "server busy" error, but you'll eventually get in.
 
61.5 has a strong signal for those who have a good line of sight (LOS). It's off the east coast. 129 is experiencing some problems. It is not very stable due to limited station keeping & pointing controls. Some people see the signal increase and decrease in strength as it wobbles slightly. It just seems to be a less reliable source. You may have some dropouts with 129 that you might not have with 61.5.

The Dish 1000 is a single dish solution that gets 110, 119 & 129. Using 61.5 will require two dishes, one for 61.5 and one for 110 & 119.
