What Happens If I Spend 6 Months Elsewhere Where I Can't Get Dish???

If I spend 6 months elsewhere and I can't get DISH what does it cost to put DISH on vacation for that period? I have served my time and am not obligated to DISH-will have to get cable for the 6 months. Thanks for any help!
