A few years ago, from what I can recall, there was a big change from 110/119 & 61.5 to 61.5 72 & 77. I had my installer come in and setup a Dish 1000 and he could only get 61.5 & 72; I knew I lost some channels but just never had the chance to follow up... The kids were not complaining and I lost touch with checking in here regularly. Fast forward to today and I have bough a Hopper for the new capacity and sling capability. Connect to a chat session with dish and ask what birds I should be pointed to and I am being told 110/119 72 & 129. Ok, what did I miss???

i don't know your location, but 61.5 and 72 is all that is needed in some locations. (like mine central, ny ) and with the new 1000.2 dish that's all you can get!

good luck.

I am in upstate NY. So you say all I need is 61.5 & 72? Why the heck is dish saying 110/119 & 125?

i don't believe any of those guys in the chat!
i have the other dish' 1000.4 and get 61.5, 72, and 77, but there is nothing on 77.....................
if i remember right 61.5 is for locals and all else on 72.................!!!

I believe you're getting all you need for a Hopper. The Dish chat rep was out of his or her mind.

Just to maybe clear things up.
There is no 125 satellite. (Maybe you meant 129)
There are very few - I think a handful or so that need the 77 satellite at this time. Dish actually has a dish that only gets 61.5 and 72 for that reason.
It's possible getting 119/110/129 would get you your locals in SD in addition to HD, but not many would care. No other advantage really. It's more what satellites you can see when your locals are on both Arcs, which in your case is all set for the Eastern Arc.

Any tips for watching video via DLNA on 922?
