... to move the dish

My 6 footer will be arriving soon.
Using a Twinhan 1030 for FTA C-Band.
ASC-421 C-Band LNBF
An actuator will be added to move the dish.

Do I need something else?

You'll need some way of controlling the actuator. BUD actuators work on a 36-volt drive with pulsed feedback to tell the dish mover how far the actuator has moved, the Twinhan card is designed for 12-volt low-current motors that talk DiSEqC. A V-Box or V-Box II to translate should work.

Assuming your dish has a polar mount, you'll need the ribbon cable to run from the dish to the reciever. Aside from that, you are good to go.

I originally went the VBOX route and while it seemed to work alright at first, it quickly went to heck (losing positions / drifitng / etc). I wasn't happy with it. I'd reccomend just using either an old Analog reciever or a 4DTV (if you find a smoking deal) to move the big dish.

dish mover

I would go with the c band receiver for 20.00 on ebay to move dish then out of the receiver to the twinhan in the computer.
