So I would be better off using the old dish network bandstacked lnbfs? What does the 22K switching do?
Since the universal LNBF itself uses 22k switching for selecting between low and high band Ku, you cannot use 22k switching externally when universals are involved. A universal is really not necessary in North America, as the low band is not used here except on 58w for Cubavision, a channel also available on 30w.
On the other hand, if these LNBFs come with the dishes, and you aren't using enough LNBFs to require 22k switching (more than four, since up to four can be switched with DiSEqC), then it would probably be best just to stick with the universals.
