Storage specialist Western Digital today took the wraps off the WDTV Live Plus HD, an enhanced member of the WDTV media streaming family with Netflix integration. The new Netflix interface enables members to browse and add movies to their instant Queue on the Netflix Website right from their TV. Viewers can then instantly watch thousands of movies and TV episodes on the big screen.

I just purchased a non plus model on Saturday...

Guess whats going back to the store.

Plus the new Plus model can display DVD menus from ripped DVD ISO's, which the regular live unit can not do. :)

I did that last night...

The menus work so so...

The movies just start when you select them instead of going to the menu. So after the movie starts you press the option button and then select the menu and then your taken to the menus.

It does not however work with the menus on bluray iso's. Infact it gives you an error and asks if you want to play it anyways. If you click yes then the movie plays fine.

I ripped all my Blurays (I only have 10 of them) and all worked fine except for UP which for some reason starts 15 minutes into the movie. And end about 15 minutes before the movie ends... I am going to try reripping that one. I am using ANYDVD HD to rip them.

I may end up keeping the WDTV Live I have now and putting it down the stairs and get the new one and put it in my bedroom where I normally watch TV.

What I have done with dvd's for my WDTV is ripped then used VideoReDo to pull the individual files (ripping Survivor Dvd's) then converted to mpeg 2 files and named Ep 1 "This has never happened before" (Palau from Replay Mpeg) works good for TV on dvd...

Actually searching the net that is an issue with the UP Bluray. The movie is broken up into parts. There is a program you can use to stich all the parts together, but that seems like too much work for me. :)
