Well that took a little longer than expected... but we are back from our Spring Cleaning and with our new look!

Since it took a little longer than expected we still have some housecleaning to do and we will do it over the next few days!

We will also keep our new look Ad Free for the next few days as well!

As you will notice with our new forum layout we listened to you by keeping it simple! we pruned from over 70 forums down to what we have today, which has made it easier to find and post in the forum you want!

And don't forget out exciting new look, crisp and clean. Easy on the eyes, and again we kept it simple as well! We are proud of our new look that was custom made for us by a company called Themehouse!

Now one thing to remember... we realize that some folks don't like change, so the old SatelliteGuys looks are still available! If you want to change select your style from the style choose on the bottom left of each page... however we thing you will really like the new look, and this new look also works great on all mobile browsers too!

Remember Rome was not build in a day and as I said before we still have some work to do. But we hope you enjoy the changes as much as we have enjoyed working to bring them to you!

I like the new as well as the old.

I have a suggestion, or two.

In the TV section that we use to post about different shows in, can we PLEASE go back to where they are labelled ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and put the perspective shows back in thier network thread.

Its Much easier to find your shows by Network than scrolling thru the way it is now.

Only other thing is it seems like a few pages there is nothing on it but open space, when the Forum 1st thread is not on the main page when going into it, its a problem.
Not sure if that makes sense or not, but a forums pages are like that.

This thread is not entirely like that but alot of it is.

If you open this thread, its almost to the bottom of the page before a post.
Just seems odd and seems like the space could be used better.

Pub members is a prime example, you actually have to scroll down to the next screen before you see a thread.

We actually looked at having this style made in dark and this was the reply we got.

This actually takes a bit more work than you'd expect, which is why we haven't had the time to release a dark versions ourselves as of yet. To go through and do a thorough job making sure all text is legible and fixed through the entire theme (which is almost the entirely of the job) it would like take about 4-6 hours at our hourly rate of $159/hr. If you'd like, I can have either Mike or Sarah talk to you further about getting a more accurate quote if it is something that you would like to pursue.

While this is a custom style we picked the base using on of their existing styles then had them customize it for us from there. After paying $$$ for this look, which I think looks amazing we just don't have the money at this time to pay for the dark theme...

However good news is they are planning on converting their base style on their own to dark sometime hopefully in the near future. Once they do that I can purchase the style from them at around $30 and then apply the changes they made to customize the style for us to that style and we get a dark version for much less money. Until then however you can use one of the other dark styles we offer.

Because about 75% of the DISH Hopper posts were made in the main forum instead of the Hopper Forum, and also due to the fact the Hopper is now the main receiver being given out by DISH we put everything in the main DISH forum.

Hi Jimbo, thank you for the feedback.

I know this is an area we discussed quite a bit, how many forums, what forums to keep vs. consolidate. I'm sure Scott can speak to this better later on, but the main goal was to really clean up the site and consolidate where it made sense. With each of the forums separated by network there wasn't much activity in any of them. Perhaps with them combined we'll have more activity and posts in the programming areas.

I sometimes browse the site in areas I don't post as much, and programming was an area that was just overwhelming with the amount of forums when just browsing.

Nobody's mentioned it yet - but did anyone notice the homepage is gone?

Many internet forums have moved away from having a homepage to try and draw visitors deeper into the site. Also, with the "news bar" at the top we can deliver the same breaking news information (that will be more timely this way) at the top of the forum index. Plus - it looks awesome!

Me too. No one knows what happened to QWERT1515 as he wrote the uplink report software and was running it from his home. I have PMed and emailed him numerous times with no reply and he has not been here since June. The uplinks stopped reporting 6 weeks ago so I am not sure what is going on.

I also don't know what this means for TheList which he ran as well.

I do hope he is ok.
