Local NBC channel from New Orleans, which has continuous coverage of Katrina Hurricane.

Trans. 12190 H
SR. 3979

Getting this FTA NBC channel with 90% quality

yep..this might be one of those that stays on for a while due to a disaster

Remember when the NBC in Lake Charles had their tower collapse last year and they were FTA for 6 months? :)

yep..been there since the hurricane hit

They are using the LPB studios in baton Rouge :)

Actually its WWL-TV 4 that is using the LPB studios..

WDSU is using the studios of WAPT Jackson and their other sister station WESH Olrando...

I assume WDSU will stay uplinked as long as their OTA signal is down and they need to get their signal to E* and D* (I know that E* has been carring the Satellite feed of WDSU since the hurricane hit) -- WDSU made the comment when their transmitter got soaked in water that you could still get them on satellite if you where in the outter areas and subbed to locals.

you're right....I was watching WWL last night and saw the LPB backdrop :)

right now WDSU is on 49 (Pax) locally. I checked and Pax is outside of NO proper so they still have a tower :)

I know the other NO stations (except these 2) are just black scrrens (this is from www.dishchannelchart.com )

I beleive the only actual inside of NO station that is putting an OTA signal right now is WWL TV, they broadcast from Gretna and had very mimimal damage at their transmitter site, they had only few hours of downtime from what they have said on their webstream.

WDSU is up on satellite as stated but still off OTA until their transmitter site dries out and they can get in there and work on it. WDSU is currently being simocasted on PAX 49 and has since last week. (I doubt people are missing i-tv's informercials)

I am sure E* and D*'s pops in NO area are "out of order" My best guess is that WDSU's signal is being uplinked at the orlando pop via the means of WESH (which has orginated a lot of WDSU's coverage when not thru the local team in jackson at WAPT.. and WWL is probally being sent up from houston where there is another Belo owned station.

That's my best guess, ofcourse this busy hurricane season is now making me desire a FTA setup for the wild news feeds.. :) (though I have to admit, these stations use of the internet has been amazing... a few years ago this would never have happened)
