With the 12 pay per view HD channels, they could just change any of them they wanted to add new HD nationals. Am I technially correct on this?

I believe you are correct. There are only 9 and not 12. One is currently being used for tbs hd. I am sure there is someone out there to tell me if I am wrong.
They have room for more HD channels today.

Do you think the AT&T merger stuff is holding them in a freeze mode? I have seen companies it the process of be sold to try and stay status quo.
I have brought up that same point on here a time or two. Some people on here were quick to point out that the merger is only rumors. It does make you wonder why no reaction to what Direct has been doing with their hd. I know if I were going to sell or merge my company , I would be working a lot less.
On the other hand, it might be better for them to say "look who we have on board for you....We have already signed agreements with all these networks and added "X" # of channels. While they are at it, maybe they can issue a statement to their subs as well.
