Just started using WattOS on my old eee pc. It's a small, LXDE distro, very much like Lubuntu... Anyway, it has been phenomenally fast and efficient on this old netbook. I wanted to give it a mention here in case anyone's looking for something similar.

I think I'll check this out. Thank you! I've been wanting to start using our Eee PC with the 4GB SSD but can't do it with the latest Ubuntu as it requires a little more than 4GB for the install.

The WattOSR4 live cd didn't exhibit the wireless problems that Lubuntu live did on my daughter's old Acer notebook. I haven't used LXDE much it looks like a nice low-resource desktop alternative.

I've been on a Slackware kick lately and downloaded the LXDE version of Salix last night with the intention of trying it on the aforementioned old notebook. I'm not sure if she wants to part with CrunchBang, though.
