Watching DVR content on a laptop

I am trying to figure out why I cannot watch the contents of my DVR when Im on a laptop on my home network.... I can use the app on an iPad and watch everything.... This doesn't make sense to me.

DTV on the PC doesn't allow to watch DVR content. Not sure if that could change if the DTV Everywhere APP gets replaced by the DTV Now APP on the PC.
