I should have known better, but at least it was not stuff I really wanted anyways
I finally decided to get an USB hub for my 922 and do more than one USB hard drives at a time. I have a couple of drives full from my other receivers and decided to finally trust the 922. Well I was testing the 922 with an EHD made with my 622, it did not have anything important on it. When I got the hub I also picked up a new 2TB EHD.
I had the 622 EHD hooked up, I unplugged and put in the powered hub and sure enough the 922 found it and the contents were all there. After playing around with it (playing back from the EHD, transfering a program over, etc) I decided that the hub/EHD situation was a stable combination.
The next step was I plugged in the new 2TB drive. The 922 came up with the format message, I said OK and it went to work. But, I should have known it was going to be a problem. It formatted BOTH drives, not just the new one but the old one too. It essentially erased the original drive from the 622.
I am glad I had not hooked up my other other drives.
Moral of this story is to disconnect all other drives from the 922 before you plug in a new one just in case it goes format happy. In hindsight I should have known better than to trust the 922 to be bug free in the EHD software.
