Be aware that there are scams going on right now of web sites that look legit and asking for donations for the Katrina aftermath but in fact these are scam artist trying to take advantage of the situation. In some cases, the red cross and salvation army websites have been duplicated and you maybe re-direct to their site. Of course, you think you are donating to the red cross but in fact you are becoming a victim of internet looting. This I heard on the radio.

I've seen lots of "Katrina" Phish domain names posted to some of the anti-spam lists I'm on. Be **VERY** careful, and as scott suggests upthread, go to the sites you **KNOW** are legitimate.
