Want to cancel Service

I am a new directv customer. Ive had my gear for a week and i got it through the phone company. Anyways i wanna go back to dish network. I havent signed the contracts yet and its only been a week since my install on tuesday. Anyone think I can Cancel my service and return my equipment? Is there a trial period like a car? Thanks
I also have an international dish that i yarded off the house cause my installer tole me i wasnt using it? Two orbital location Elongated oval looking bastard... Anyone know the value of that? thanks.

Your telephone company sets the rules for your contract so you need to contact them. State laws vary so from one state to another they may have different rules.
