congress should give something to the people and require unbundled programming if you want it............
I imagine the providers would just jack up the prices for channels that most people want so we'd end up paying the same or more.

The OP has not been back since his second post. I hope he at least read the comments so he won't be too disappointed when he finds out that his Cardinals will ALWAYS be blacked out.
NO.. As a Dish sub you are not getting out of Market MLB broadcasts.I am a Dish Network Subscriber and as I live in SF am offered the baseball package for the West Coast; Oakland and SF which I'm clearly not interested in.
I want to know if I can either swap that for say Midwest package or pay an additional fee to receive those games as Iam, a die hard Cardinal fan and wish to see my Redbirds as much as possible.
Per MLB, any provider who carries the MLB channel MUST also offer their Extra Innings package. Since Dish does not have Extra Innings, then they cannot carry the MLB channel, even if they wanted to.
Lighten up. It was just a joke...
I see you're a college hockey fan. Did you catch that late goal in the BU /UNH game on Sat? Jeez.dont care if it was a joke or not. Political posts are not allowed here per the rules
Nope. You can go back and read the press release and there are several threads on this site as well that confirm what I said to be true. In order for any provider to carry MLBNet, they must also carry Extra Innings. No Extra Innings means no MLBNet. The only way Dish can carry MLBNet if they choose, is to also offer EI.FYI, you have the above backwards. In order to get the new MLB Channel carried on as many systems as possible at startup, MLB mandated that anyone who wants MLB EI had to agree to carry the MLB Channel as well.
Charlie could carry the MLB Channel if he wished, he has just chosen not to so far.

Whose rules?
This is the quote from the "forum rules" that deals with content:
"By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws."
There is no reference to political content. Have the rules changed or are they just made up as we go along? I am happy to abide by the forum rules but I resent my post being deleted when it is clearly within forum rules.
