I certainly wouldn't pay the extra cost of a Gold package over a silver package just to get Versus.

They actually throw in one or two other channels as well

Was that directed towards me? If so, I wasn't complaining. I was providing a fix/workaround to the problem where versus HD wasn't showing in the Guide.

I'd like to think that I was helping the community.

I reread my post and fail to see how it could be considered complaining.
