Wilt,

You helped me out earlier, and I was hoping you could take care of
this. I had my original install on June 26th, I had asked you before
that to get me approved for a 24" dish, you took care of that, and I
appreciated it very much. When I contacted Voom before my original
install date, they told me that they had the approval for the 24",
but they would have to have it installed at a later date. We set it
up for July 6th. On June 26th, my installer showed up, he installed
the 18" dish, and a really small OTA antenna. He knew as soon as he
showed up that the OTA antenna, would not give me any reception, he
instructed me to call Voom as soon as he left and have them schedule
me for a larger antenna. I did this as soon as he left, they told me
that they looked it up, and that I definetly needed the larger
antenna, they scheduled it for the same day as the 24" dish, July
6th. I was pleased, a bit suprised though that Voom would not run my
zip to verify what type and size of OTA antenna I would need, before
they came out the first time. I figured in doing so they would end
up saving money, on both antenna's, and installation charges. Well
to move on July 6th came yesterday, It was a day I could not wait
for, I havn't had any OTA channels since June 26th. I got a call
from the same guy who did my original install, he said that he had
just recieved word, that he was doing my job. He said that he did
not have any OTA antennas, or the 24" dish to install. He said they
had to order it, and he would call me when it came it. I then called
voom, I found it hard to believe that they would contact him the
morning of my install to ask him to do the install. The Voom rep,
told me that the installation company had accepted the work order for
July 6th, on June 26th. The rep said that the he showed that the
installation company recieved the 24" dish and bigger ota antenna on
June 27th at 9:06 AM. Voom rep said that they send out the hardware,
and the installer told me that he had to order them him self. I
called the installer today, and asked why I was getting such
different stories, he said he was going to level with me, he said
that Voom has not been reimbursing them for the larger OTA antennas,
and that his company was not going to order or install any more until
they were paid by Voom. The voom rep had said that they would only
pay $60 toward a larger antenna, I don't remember ever reading this
on the web site or, hearing about it here, I may be wrong though. I
was just hoping you could get this all striaghtend out, I love Voom
the quality of the HD and SD is leaps and bounds above the cable I
was recieving. But I can't wait to not have it cut out during storms,
and to have my local channels back. Any help you can give me would
be great.

Thanks again

[VOOM] RE: VOOM] Wilt, could you please help again!

I don't have all the run around and stories as you do, but I've been on VOOM
since 6/3/04 and still do not have my ABC channel. Yeah, I'm only missing 1
station where others are missing all or half or whatever. But you know what,
ABC is an important channel to get and come this fall when Alias and Extreme
Makeover Home Edition come back on and I still don't have it, I'm going to
be one seriously upset camper.

I would rather be leveled with and told VOOM will or won't pay $XX dollars
for a better antenna then get the run around. If I HAVE to buy my own then
just say so and get it done. Most people are very understanding and if you
just tell the truth and get things done the first time, people wouldn't be
so upset and give VOOM a bad name.

Wilt and Dragonlady_Mom and others at VOOM know I LOVE VOOM and support them
but this run around stuff has to stop. We really appreciate the hard work of
Wilt and others but why does this chaoes have to continue? There should a
SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) in place for scheduling and followups. It
doesn't sound like there is one.

RE: [VOOM] RE: VOOM] Wilt, could you please help again!

I don't think he was "leveled with", so that's something to watch for that
I'm checking on.
SOP is great if people follow it, seems that getting them to follow it
isn't always so easy however.
What's your zip code and antenna, OTA type, again?

[VOOM] Re: VOOM] Wilt, could you please help again!

Wilt,

Thanks so much for responding so quick. Your right, having people
follow SOP, or even giving good responsive customer service anymore
is a rarity. My zip code is 32725, when I pull it up, it
shows "red", they installed a Winegard Model GS-1000. I think I've
gotten abc once for about 10 minutes, it was very snowy, but it was
there. I went on the Hometheaterspot, and some of the veteran OTA
antenna guys, recommended a Winegard HD7080P or HD7082P, or at least
a antenna with the same specs.

Thanks again
