If you visit the AVS forum, you'll find that many people are very satisfied with Voom. Forgetting their exclusive HD channels, they certainly have more of the HD channels from the major suppliers. For someone who doesn't need most of the useless SD channels on Dish or DirecTV, Voom is a great alternative. If Voom had an HD PVR, I'd drop Dish and subscribe to Voom.

If you think news and public affairs channels are useless, then yes, they have fewer useless channels.

I was just browsing the V* thread. They are all fired up about the free PPV Boxing match this weekend. Then later down the thread someone asked who was fighting. Nobody knew but it was still gonna be a great match. LOL

Free PPV fights might be a selling point to 1-2% of sat viewers. Free NBA league pass or NCAA football/basketball pass would be a bigger deal to most people.
