linkinkorn_kid,
Hi. Happy New Year to you!
I have the deinstall scheduled for Jan. 5. I am hoping that VOOM will
announce the promotion for existing customers of $1, etc. so I can avoid the
hassle of scheduling what may be two service calls. If you hear anything I
am sure you will inform us. On Jan.2 I will call to cancel the deinstall
regardless and just wait to see what vOOM decides to do about extra set top
boxes.
Too much of a pain dealing with two visits from Installations, inc.

I'm still waiting to see what happens next week as well. You might remember
that I complained about the lack of an answer from Voom on adding receivers
for existing customers about two weeks or so ago. I want to switch from
cable to Voom completely, but don't want to spend huge money to do it.

After complaining here, I was contacted by a rep directly through email, and
I thought we had things worked out to a decent deal. But when I replied to
ensure that I had all the facts straight before agreeing, she never answered
back. Sent her three emails, tried calling Voom and having them connect me
to her (didn't work, which I find extremely annoying), nada, zippo.

I have my new plasma all set up now in the bedroom. I'll be deciding next
week between

a) adding Voom to all the TV's and dropping cable ONLY if they have a decent
promotion for existing customers or
b) buying a LG LST 4200a stb for the plasma, and dropping Voom entirely. I
already have a built in box for the tv that uses Voom right now, and 80% of
our HD viewing is OTA stuff right now. I really like having Voom for the
other channels, but unless I get rid of cable it's just a nice to have right
now, not a must have.
