VOOM has pages of ads in May Sound&Vision

In a special section "Guide to HDTV" VOOM has ads 2/5 across the bottom of 3 sets of 2 pages as well as a full page ad just after the final page of this special section. Some out of date into in the "Satellite Services" section and some old info about STARZ! and SHOWTIME on the full page ad but the ads are there for all to see.

There have been full page VOOM ads in recent issues of The Perfect Vision and Stereophile Guide to Home Theater as well. Looks like VOOM is starting a real push. Will make it that much harder to call a VOOM CSR but since major problems seem to be declining that shouldn't be to much of a problem he says knocking on wood.

Voom is and has been all over any website that pertains to audio, video, or home theater that I have visited lately.

a real great placement was the Full page ad (this week)in ON SAT a weekly t.v guide type magazine for Directv or dish subscribers( you have to pay for it ..private company) The strategy was to get those subscribers interested in Switching!!good move

That's cool. It's kinda like Target throwing an ad into WalMart's weekly mailer.

It's too bad ads have to be into the Rags so early, it makes reading up to date info pretty difficult. Sound & Vision used to keep a HD scorecard but they gave up on it a few months ago since the market is so dynamic now.

That's why we -they-VOOM-need national ads in the weekly's--- (people or entertainment weekly,sports illustrated) or dailies USA today, wall street journal? etc

The best place for them to advertise is on directTV. I've seen them do it too!

They need to start a "and in a year over 60 HD channels" commercial. That would shake directv to the core.
