[VOOM] ESPN2 HD

Channel launches today, anyone know if this will be added today?
Was it included in the agreement to carry ESPNHD ?
Anyone know ?

According to the Press Release yesterday only DirecTV and Adelphia
have carriage agreements on ESPN2 HD. It may give us a clue as to
the longevity of VOOM. By that I mean, this is the first HD channel
that they have actually let DirecTV beat them to at the channel's
debut. Could be a bad, omnious sign.

Just for kicks I called a VOOM CSR asking about the addition of this
channel.
He told me they usually hear but cant say exactly when a channel is
being added, but in this case they have NOT heard a peep on adding
this one. It's too bad, I like college hoops and last nights triple
header would have been great in HD. And next week is rivalry week in
college hoops, looks bleak for having this channel anytime soon.
VOOM spoiled us by having new channels on launch dates,but not this
time.

Many services do not seem to have this one up and running yet. I don't know
why since there was plenty of advanced notice. This is revenue for ESPN so
why did they not take care of this properly.

How much HD programming do they actually show on regular ESPN HD? From what I have seen, it isn't a whole lot (just Sunday Night Football, sportscenter and a few basketball games).

Wonder how much actual HD programming vs non-HD material will be shown on ESPN2HD.

Maybe this isn't anything to get too worried about right now. Just my two cents...

Just looked at the ESPN site about their HD programming...Nearly half of the 82 HD programs in 83 days look like they are NFL related shows that are not actually games (like NFL LIVE which shows 12 times and NFL PRIMETIME PRESENTED BY MILLER LITE which shows 22 times)...Looks like there are about 30 college basketball games...

Anyone hear anything about VOOm adding this ch? Seems like no other carrier has added it as of yet. I cant understand why VOOM wouldnt be adding this ch first. They are the leader in HD...they should add this ch and capitalize on the news exposure of being the only carrier that has the ch. Voom could use some positive press. This is one way to get it...carry the ch at launch or close to it.
