Next question. I have a 55" Vizio tv that works perfectly. I had a Dish reciever that was not a DVR then upgraded to a VIP612DR DVR and I started expierencing the TV being turned off when pausing a program or when I am in the DVR list selecting a show to watch. The tv goes black and the tv turns off and back on automatically then I can resume what I was doing. This only seems to happen when using the DVR. The old reciever never did this, so I am thinking that it is the DVR reciever, it never does it during live tv or using the menu. It is only a minor inconvience, but I dont want the tv to be damaged due to the excessive turning on/off. I would appreciate any tips you may have.

Does your Vizio have an HDMI control setting in it that can be disabled?

I had the exact same problem with a 37" Vizio and a 612. It is an HDMI issue. I had to switch to component cables. I am currently using a 722K with HDMI cables on the same TV. The 612 is creating the problem.

On Samsung TVs this is called Anynet+ (WISELINK.) No idea what Vizio calls the option (if there is one.)

I have an older 32" Vizio and have no issues with my 622 that is attached to it. I also have a newer 32" with a 211K, which had a 722 attached, and no issues there. Have you tried all of the HDMI connections?
