Pompano beach, Fl
Just bought the new cinewide by vizio
Curios if anyone else picked one of these
Up?
I'm replacing a high end Panasonic 54"
Plasma
Giving to my parents
Hearing not so good.

This vizio is not for everyone.
It's hd picture is bright and very
Detailed.
Where it shines is watching blu rays.
It truly blows away anything I've seen
Lately.
It's blacks are not as black as plasma
But darn close.
It takes getting used to not seeing the
Horizontal of a regular set.
But you lose the black bars.

Vizio has a winner here.
If your a movie lover and want
To lose the black bars, check
This set out.

Any time you display non-native content on any screen you get your choice of black bars or some form of picture manipulation to match the screen. It isn't unique to the Cinewide.

What does it do to regular 16x9 content like HDTV? How does that look?

Jason,

It looks incredible. I just bought the Oppo 103 to go
with the set. All I can say is ''wow''.
I put on Prometheus and I was blown away.

Its really a treat to see a movie the way it was filmed.
I replaced my Pany 54'' vt10. I have to
say the blacks are right on par with the Panasonic.
Plus it was half the price.

My hopper sometimes struggles with the new cinewide.
I have to reboot the receiver. Not often.
No issues with direct. HR24 seems to handle it well.

By the way, your Redskins are not the old skins I remember getting beaten up
by my Giants.
Scary good these days...
