Why did they say leased 722 must be installed on Sunday at that?

I'm taking owned 921 off account rather than get $10 for my $900+. Will have to return original but unused 501 per the 4 leased tuners limit as I have a 622 leased. As you can guess I'm quite familiar with separator from DPP44 on 921 and 622 and no cabling will be needed.

Here are the release notes for L442

* fix for 722 FF trick modes being too fast

* possible fix for the external hard drive archive authorization problem where even with the authorization the pop-up was still appearing

more likely they are trying to fix the problems, spooling to a group they mostly have control of before making us 622 users even more angry.

So in fact the 722 might be a better receiver than the 622 overall. If the BCM7412 does better Mpeg4 decompression, then this could be one of the reasons for the BSOD on the 622's when on HD channels.

When I went to the Tech. Portal it showed this for the Vip 622
But if I look at my 622 it's still at L4.41.
Shouldn't everybody be at L4.42 or am I reading this wrong

8/16/2007: 0959 Software Version L4.42 for ViP 622 DVR Effective Thursday, August 16th, Engineering has spooled the PARTIAL PHASE of software version L4.42 for the ViP 622 DVR receiver. This is primarily a non-forced maintenance release available at ALL satellite locations.
At this time L4.42 will be the valid software version for the ViP 622 DVR.

Thanks

Will the model 622 be discontinued?

They announced on the chat that the ViP 722 REPLACES the ViP622. I'm sure they'll use up the ViP622s that they have, and that the receiver will be around for a long time.

I'm still hoping to find out if the ViP722 has a better mounting for the HDMI connector.
