Vip622 problems

every couple of days my 622 says I need to unplug the receiver for one minute, because it loses it's programming and will not record, rewind, pause etc. I called Dish and all they say is I need a new receiver, but they want $25.00 for shipping and said my receiver is out of warranty. I said I pay big bucks already for Dish and i'm not paying $25.00 for something I'm leasing every month. Just last month they increased my lease fees a huge amount, and I'm not going to pay them more. I even told them to come and get their equipment out of my house if they're going to charge me the $25.00 shipping, and all they said is okay, we will send you shipping boxes to return the receivers. I'm not under any contracts and have just about every option that dish offers with our programming, but yet they are willing to pay for shipping to get all their receivers back if I cancel service with them, but not waive the $25.00 to send me a new receiver to make me a happy customer. I know this sounds stupid and you're going to say just pay the $25.00, but I'm sick of paying Dish so much money every month, when 3 years ago I was paying 25% less for the same service i'm receiving today. Anyone have a solution what might be wrong with my receiver?

I couldn't agree with you more. :upNow it's $25 shipping for a replacement receiver???:rolleyes:Wait'll you find out they are now charging you $15 a pop to RETURN receivers when you cancel. Talk about leaving a bad taste in a customers' mouth when they leave. Kinda like a kick in the ass on the way out the door.......I lowered my monthly bill $32 yesterday by cancelling my premiums and dropping down from the 250 pack to the 200. Also quit paperless billing since they no longer offer ME anything to save THEM $$$.:rant:
As to your 622--do you have good signal strength??? Also, if you have OTA via antenna hooked up an erractic signal can do what you describe. Tune to the OTA with the most reliable signal or disconnect the antenna for awhile to see. This will effect your satellite reception and even viewing recordings or attempting to record will get screwed up. If your getting a "Signal Lost" window this may be the problem. Best of luck!

If you had the DISH home protection plan($6/Mon) the cost of a replacement would be $0.00. Just went through this several weeks ago myself and was very pleased. I've always had the plan and don't play the subscribe/get service/cancel games lots of folks play.
