vip622 hardware - what's inside?

Hi There,

I'm new here. I just went from a 25" tube with basic cable to a 42" plasma with dish HD, and a pvr. As you can imagine, I'm pretty overwhelmed I'd never messed with any of this before, so it's a pretty new and awesome experience.

My first question when I hooked up the vip622 was.. what's inside? I figured I'd find the answer easy enough on the net, but I haven't found anything, except that it likely has a 320gb hard drive.

So, because the geek in me can't stand having a piece of cool new hardware without knowing what's inside, I'm wondering anyone could answer any of the following questions:

I'm assuming it runs on some sort of custom linux OS? I'm just curious what, if any, information people have about the OS itself. Also, How much memory? CPU Type / Speed? Chipset? IDE or SATA? Also, What's the purpose of the network and usb ports?

I can say it has two motherboards.

The 622 is a VIP (Video Internet Protocol) reciever, the ethernet port is "for future use."

USB Port, one I know of is the long wait for external storage.

I'm sure others know more..
